Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum

Purpose: Stores vital molecules, such as ions and steriods, for different processes that regulate the cell's internal climate.

 

Location: Plant and Animal Cells

 

Importance: Without the Smooth Endoplasmic Reticulum, the cell would collapse from the extreme conditions of the outer area because it would have no way to regulate its interior.
